Rilo uses a credit-based system to track workflow execution costs. Credits are consumed when workflows execute blocks, with different operations having different credit costs.

Credit System

How Credits Work

Credits are consumed when workflows execute. Each block execution has a base cost, and additional credits may be consumed based on:
  • Block Base Cost: 1 credit per block execution
  • Tool Usage: Additional credits for API calls, LLM operations, and external service usage
  • Execution Time: Longer-running blocks may consume more credits

Credit Consumption Examples

A workflow that scrapes Reddit posts and sends an email:
  • Start block: 1 credit
  • Scrape block: 1 credit + tool usage
  • Email block: 1 credit + tool usage
  • Total: ~3-5 credits per execution

Credit Limits

  • Minimum to Start: 1 credit required to start block execution
  • Low Credit Warning: Email notification when balance drops below 100 credits
  • Insufficient Credits: Workflow execution stops if credits are exhausted mid-execution
Credits are checked before each block execution. If you don’t have enough credits, the workflow will pause until you add more.
