Overview

Email reminders help you:
  • Stay on top of reviews: Get notified about pending HITL block reviews
  • Monitor credits: Receive warnings when credit balance is low
  • Never miss deadlines: Configurable reminder intervals
Email reminders are sent automatically based on your workflow and account configuration. No manual setup required for basic reminders.

HITL Block Reminders

HITL (Human-in-the-Loop) blocks can send reminders when reviews are pending.

Configuration

Configure reminders when creating HITL blocks:

Reminder Intervals

Reminder intervals are specified in hours after the HITL block enters awaiting_input state:

Reminders stop after the review is completed. If you complete the review before a reminder time, that reminder won’t be sent.

Notification Modes

Choose how you want to receive reminders:

You can enable multiple notification modes. For example, ["email", "in_app"] sends both email and in-app notifications.

Reminder Email Content

Reminder emails include:
  • Workflow name: Which workflow needs attention
  • Block name: Which block is awaiting review
  • Review link: Direct link to the review page
  • Reminder number: Which reminder this is (1st, 2nd, etc.)

Low Credit Warnings

Rilo automatically sends email warnings when your credit balance is low.

Warning Threshold

  • Threshold: 100 credits
  • Automatic: Sent when balance drops below threshold
  • One-time: Only one warning per low balance period
Low credit warnings help you avoid workflow interruptions. Add credits before your balance reaches zero.

Low credit warning emails include:
  • Current balance: Your remaining credits
  • Billing link: Direct link to add credits
  • Usage information: Recent credit consumption

Reminder Best Practices

Choose reminder intervals based on your workflow urgency. Time-sensitive reviews need shorter intervals.
Use both email and in-app notifications to ensure you see reminders.
Keep an eye on credit warnings and add credits proactively.
Complete reviews promptly to avoid multiple reminders and workflow delays.

Set hitl_reminder_enabled: false in HITL block configuration:

Disable Low Credit Warnings

Low credit warnings cannot be disabled. They’re essential for preventing workflow interruptions.
Disabling reminders may cause you to miss important workflow events. Use with caution.

Email Delivery

  • Reliable delivery: Emails are sent via Resend
  • Delivery tracking: Monitor email delivery in account settings
  • Spam prevention: Emails are sent from verified domains
If you’re not receiving emails, check your spam folder and verify your email address in account settings.

  • Check spam/junk folder
  • Verify email address in account settings
  • Ensure reminders are enabled in block configuration
  • Check that reminder intervals are set
  • Adjust reminder intervals to be less frequent
  • Complete reviews promptly to stop reminders
